A Horrific Crash Took a Father’s Life While His Son Cried

Hi, my name is Angeline. I am the ex-wife of DaRon Craig and the mother of his four children — Lexie, Jada, Mia, and DJ (DaRon Jr.).

On August 7, 2025, our lives were forever changed. DaRon was tragically killed in a horrific incident of vehicular manslaughter while walking with our son DJ after picking up lunch from Subway. They were just steps away from our home when a driver struck multiple pedestrians, taking DaRon’s life instantly. By God’s grace, our son was physically unharmed — we truly believe angels were surrounding him — but emotionally, we are all shattered.

DaRon died protecting his son. That’s who he was — a devoted father, a kind man, and someone who loved his children more than anything. He worked hard, gave selflessly, and even though our marriage didn’t last, we shared over 15 years of life together and remained a family for our children.

Right now, our son DJ is struggling deeply with grief and guilt, feeling as if this tragedy was somehow his fault for asking his dad to take him to get lunch. We are doing everything we can to reassure him that this was not his fault, and we ask for your prayers — especially for DJ — as he begins to process this trauma.

Daron was a devoted father who loved all of his children deeply — his firstborn son Jay, and his daughters Catera, Justece, Lexie, Jada, and Mia, as well as his son DJ. No matter the distance or circumstances, his love for each of them was constant, unconditional, and the core of who he was. His children were his pride, his joy, and the light of his life.

We are humbly asking for any support to help cover DaRon’s funeral expenses so we can give him the farewell he deserves. His children are still young, and it’s important for them to have a place where they can visit their father, talk to him, and hold on to the memory of his love.
