Don’t Let the Wildfire End Our Indie Film’s Journey
Donation protected
Hi PORL Family,
Our hearts are heavy as we share the devastating news that The Preservation of Roux Lee (PORL), my independent film, was impacted by the LA wildfires. As a woman-owned, Altadena-based production company, this loss has been profound. We need your support to complete the final 9 days of filming. Your contributions will help us rebuild (replacing lost locations, sets, costumes, and props) so we can bring this story to life despite the challenges we face.
The past two years of making this film have been some of the most challenging. The Preservation of Roux Lee (PORL) has faced shutdowns from COVID, a tornado, a record-breaking cold snap in New Orleans that froze pipes and stalled production vans, and now the Eaton Fire.
Yet, despite every setback, our small but determined team has persevered. Witnessing how our film’s advocacy for displaced communities is already making an impact—promoting mental wellness and raising awareness for those in need—has been incredibly rewarding.
We are deeply grateful for your support and for sharing our story with as many people as possible. Every contribution brings us closer to finishing this film and ensuring that its message reaches those who need it most.
With gratitude and hope,
Jennifer Haskin-O’Reggio
