We Need Your Help to Save Dilara’s Life

Dilara, born in 1995, is a young Turkmen mother of three children (ages 9, 8, and 4) who came to Istanbul to provide a better future for her family. Tragically, she recently began experiencing severe bone pain and fever, and on December 14, 2024, she was diagnosed with leukemia.

Leukemia in a 30-year-old is a life-threatening condition that demands urgent and intensive treatment, including chemotherapy, potential bone marrow transplants, and prolonged hospital care. Early and effective intervention is critical to her survival.

Current Treatment Progress

Dilara is being treated at T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı Göztepe Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın Şehir Hastanesi Hematology Clinic in Istanbul. She has already started chemotherapy, successfully completing her first session. Additional treatments, including medications to prevent infections and manage her condition, are being administered. While initial improvements in her lab results provide hope, she still faces a long and difficult journey ahead.

Financial Challenges

Dilara’s health insurance has not yet become active. Her employer generously covered 200,000 TL ($5733 USD) for initial diagnostic tests and consultations as a loan. However, the costs of her treatment are escalating rapidly. In addition to medical expenses, the hospital has advised hiring a professional caregiver who can stay with Dilara full-time in her room to minimize infection risks. This essential care adds another significant financial burden.
