Hi, my name is Diamond Bradley, and I’m fundraising to continue my graduate education at New York University — something I have worked tirelessly for, invested in deeply, and dreamed of completing.
This GoFundMe is my last option after an unexpected and devastating administrative error placed my entire degree at risk.
WHY I’M ASKING FOR SUPPORT
Two months into the Spring 2025 semester, I was unexpectedly notified that I owed $8,895.69 due to an internal administrative error between NYU’s Financial Aid Office and the Bursar’s Office.
NYU confirmed this issue was not caused by me, but I was told:
I cannot register for upcoming semesters unless the balance is paid down to under $1,000
I cannot take another term off, because Spring 2026 is the last semester I am allowed to be absent
If I miss again, I will be forced to reapply to the program
My institutional scholarship ($15,000 Tisch Center Award) cannot be applied to the current balance, even though it would solve the problem
The only “solution” offered was to take out private loans — which is not possible for me right now
This means my graduation has shifted from Spring 2026 to possibly Spring 2028, all because of an administrative mistake that I am being left to absorb financially and emotionally.
MY COMMITMENT & WHAT I’VE BUILT AT NYU
I have worked extremely hard to make the most of my time at NYU. During my studies, I have:
Maintained a 3.9 GPA
Completed two Entrepreneurship Bootcamps
Participated in the NYU Female Founders Fellowship programming
Produced a podcast with the Wasserman Career Center
Earned my Cvent Virtual Events Certification
Served as a Dorothy Jennings Ambassador
Received the Tisch Scholarship
Pitched creative campaign work to United Masters
Volunteered countless hours supporting student communities
I’ve built relationships, supported peers, represented NYU proudly, and poured my time and heart into this program.
I’ve done everything right.
And yet — here I am, fighting to stay enrolled because of a mistake I did not make.
THE IMPACT ON MY LIFE
This situation has caused deep emotional stress, financial hardship, and interruptions to my academic progress.
It has also jeopardized:
My graduation timeline
My ability to secure jobs requiring degree completion
My scholarship eligibility
My housing and career planning
My mental health
In the words of Nelson Mandela,
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
And in my own belief,
intelligence is the torch of wisdom.
I’m choosing resilience, transparency, and community — even in this vulnerable moment.
HOW FUNDS WILL BE USED
All funds raised will go directly toward resolving the current Bursar balance:
Outstanding Balance: $8,895.69
GoFundMe Goal: $9,500 (to account for GoFundMe fees + processing)
Once this balance is cleared, I will be able to:
✔️ Register for courses
✔️ Maintain progress toward my degree
✔️ Apply my $15,000 scholarship for the upcoming term
✔️ Graduate on the timeline I’ve worked so hard for
