Stand with David: Transplant and Recovery

My name is David Fairley.

In 2019, I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Over time my condition has worsened. In November 2023, my diagnosis changed to end stage renal failure. This meant that I had to start dialysis. This has been a rough journey, but God has been faithful to send others for spiritual, emotional, and financial support.

Enduring all the medical procedures, doctors’ appointments, traveling to Birmingham and New Orleans to meet with transplant teams, hotel expenses, fuel expenses, and medications has really hit my finances very hard. I am praying that God would touch the hearts of people like you to help.

On Monday, May 26th I will be travelling to Ochsner Transplant Medical Center for a kidney transplant. God has blessed me to have a living donor. I will be there for several weeks until I am cleared to return to my hometown of Mobile, Alabama. There are more expenses involved in this procedure. I will be released from the hospital but cannot return home until I’m healthy enough to do so. I will have to find housing and remain in New Orleans until I have been given clearance. I will have to also cover expenses for a 24-hour caregiver.
