Stand with David: Support LGBTQ Refugees

David and his brothers would like to thank everyone who has donated so far, it has been huge help and is deeply appreciated. He is currently urgently in need of $530 to help buy clothes for him and his family, as their belongings have been stolen recently. This is as of March 2nd, 2025.

Hi, my name is Lia and I'm raising funds on behalf of David and his brothers from Uganda. He and his brothers have faced great discrimination as members of the LGBTQ+ community, and have had to move multiple times now. As a member of the community myself I want to help the best I can.

Here's his story:

"Hello, my name is Dav and I am reaching out to you with great hope and a brave heart. I live as LGBTQ asylum seeker after the homophobic threats and persecution that was in my home country Uganda. I find my self and my brothers in a difficult situation that I never anticipated, and I'm humble asking for your support. After when I came to the refugee camp I'm unable to work due to the homophobic threats that we face right here in the camp from the community to us with LGBTQ file. As one of the eldest brother, these unforeseen circumstances have affected our well-being but also put a strain to the ability to provide to my brothers because of the discrimination and segregation we face in the camp. your generosity and compassion can make a tremulous difference to our lives. The fund raised through will go directly towards the well being of myself and my brothers through buying food, good medication, firewood and also building shelters.
