Update: Day Three Without You
So this is day three without you, my love. People say it’s supposed to get easier, but I’m not there yet. Even with all the support from friends and family, I still find myself lost, staring into the empty spaces where your light used to shine the brightest.
Everywhere I walk, I feel you. I see little pieces of you in everything. I smell things I never noticed before—scents that are so unmistakably you. Your essence lingers in the air around me, and it’s both comforting and heartbreaking all at once.
I’m trying to hold on. But I need your help. I’m so lost without you. Please—help me to find you in the places I least expect. Help me feel your love even in the quiet.
I miss you with everything I am.
Bringing You Home
Today I went to the crematorium and filled out all the paperwork so I can bring you home, Amy. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it’s what I have to do—to carry you back where your heart belongs.
The plan is to leave Livingston, Texas—where we were stationed for my job—and make the long drive to Idaho, so your family can find some closure, and maybe I can too. It’s a long journey ahead, and every mile will be heavy without you beside me. But I know this is what you would’ve wanted.
I miss you more with every breath. This isn’t goodbye—it’s just another step in our story
Title: Support for Amy's Medical Journey and Family Needs
Story:
Hi, my name is Dave Dickinson, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved wife, Amy.
Amy is currently in critical condition, fighting for her life after a sudden and devastating illness. She has been hospitalized and placed on a ventilator, and her condition remains uncertain. This has been the most painful and overwhelming experience of our lives.
I’ve been by Amy’s side throughout this crisis, unable to work while focusing on her care and supporting her through every moment. With the loss of income and the growing expenses, we’re facing significant financial strain on top of the emotional toll.
We are asking for your support to help cover:
Ongoing medical care and related expenses
Living expenses during this time
And, if it becomes necessary, funeral and memorial services
---
How the Funds Will Be Used
We’ve set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burdens we’re facing. Your generous support will help in the following ways:
$8,000 for medical costs including hospital-related expenses, medications, transportation, and follow-up care
$6,000 to cover rent, utilities, groceries, and basic living expenses while I’m unable to work
$6,000 reserved for funeral or memorial services, should that heartbreaking outcome become reality
---
Amy is one of the most loving and selfless people I’ve ever known. She’s brought so much joy and kindness to everyone around her. Right now, she needs the same love and support returned to her.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If not, please consider sharing this campaign. Every bit of support—financial, emotional, or spiritual—helps more than you know.
With deep gratitude,
Dave Dickinson
