Help a Grandmother Rebuild After Online Harassment and Job Loss

Introduction:
Hi, my name is Darleen Oneal, and I never imagined I'd be here—asking for help at 61 years old. I’m a mother, grandmother, and a lifelong worker who always tried to live with honesty and dignity. But one viral video turned my life upside down, and now I need your help to rebuild.

My Story:
I worked as an Assistant Manager at 7-Eleven for over 12 years. I’ve been a proud part of my community, where my children and grandchildren grew up. I even had a tradition: if kids brought me good grades, I’d treat them to Slurpees or candy. It was my way of giving back—despite earning minimum wage.

But one day, everything changed. A group of popular influencers (including SteveWillDoIt and Vitaly) entered the store and tried to film without permission. Store policy, set by my manager and the owner, clearly prohibits filming without prior approval. I kindly asked them to stop and leave. I was just doing my job.

Instead of respecting that, they filmed me, twisted the situation, and posted it online. They falsely accused me of being racist (I have African American children and grandchildren), claimed I was on drugs (I’ve never touched any), and called me names.

The Fallout:
• My name, workplace, and home address were leaked online
• I received nonstop threats
• Strangers showed up at my job
• I was spat on and heckled by customers
• My grandchildren were harassed
• I was publicly humiliated—for simply doing what I was told

Eventually, I had to resign. I was jobless for a while and have since started over at a new company. But even there, I’ve been forced to transfer multiple times after being recognized. Now, even this new job is in jeopardy due to the ongoing harassment.

Why I’m Asking for Help:
I’ve called over 50 legal firms. No one will take my case. I'm not rich. I'm not famous. I’m just a grandmother who was targeted for doing her job. I’m trying to rebuild my life from the ground up.

Your donation will help me with:
• Finding a safe and stable place to live
• Covering basic living expenses as I get back on my feet
• Seeking legal support to defend my name and future
• Coping with the emotional toll this has taken on me and my family

This Isn’t Just About Me
Cyberbullying needs to stop. No one—especially a working grandmother—should have their life ruined for enforcing the rules at work. I’m standing up not just for myself, but for anyone who’s been shamed, harassed, or bullied online.

If you can help—by donating, sharing, or simply offering kind words—I would be forever grateful. Every bit brings me one step closer to healing and stability.

Let’s stand against bullying. Let’s spread kindness. Let’s bring back respect.

With love and hope,
Darleen Oneal
