Stand with Danny: Facing Job Loss & Struggle

My name is Danny Krikorian and I am a Political Scientist from Orlando, FL. I hold an MA degree from the University of Central Florida.

In 2023, I was hired for my first position as Adjunct Professor of U.S. Government at Valencia College.

After 10/7 and the ensuing genocide in Gaza committed by Israel, I became more vocal on social media.

Due to a delay in processing my employment paperwork, as I am an immigrant with DACA status, I was required to take a short leave of absence.

I’ve been living in the U.S. for 30 years since 1996. I am awaiting a possible green card process to come up later this year.

This pause forced me to seek other means of income, including generating revenue from social media where I began to share educational and advocacy content.

Suddenly, one of my posts went viral and I was being harassed, threatened, and doxxed by several users on social media platform X. The main culprit was StopAntisemitism, known for legal issues over harassment.

Valencia College, my employer, learned that I defended my beliefs about Palestine, and subsequently notified me I was no longer considered for renewing my contract.

I have since been struggling to make ends meet. I’ve applied to over 500 jobs, in and outside my field, and continue to monetize my content.

Now the situation is dire however. I am at risk of becoming homeless in the next three weeks.

I am sad to say this, but I am in urgent need of financial assistance and opportunities. I’m seeking funds to help pay my bills as I seek to establish my own revenue system.

• Limit Federal Reserve money supply & adjust interest rates to reduce inflation

• Invest public funds into employment growth & infrastructure

• Cap rent, home owners insurance & mortgage increases, and car insurance

• Build public housing

• Cap drug prices

• Raise national minimum wage to $20 an hour

• Rejoin Paris Climate Agreement

• Revamp financial sector & banking protocol to be more flexible towards marginalized communities as part of DEI

Funds will be used to take care of basic needs like housing & food. The rest is on me. I hope that by the end of my campaign I will have established myself independently or more importantly, and more helpfully, I will have landed a position teaching civics & diplomacy courses at one the many colleges to which I’ve applied. Other options are also considered. Preferably in related fields but flexible.

Disclaimer: Over the course of the last five years I’ve been diagnosed with several medical conditions that have rendered me disabled. But as a DACA recipient I do not qualify for any benefits despite being a taxpayer. I currently have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, OCD & Major Depressive Disorder. This on top of femoral degeneration & chronic pain on the left side of my body. I spend up to 5-8 hours every couple of days doing tiring exercises to relieve the inflammation. Doctors struggle to resolve my issue. This has made my employment that much more difficult. And independent monetization of social media so convenient. But the latter is not yet sufficient enough.
