Hello, my name is Daniel White, and I’m a 48-year-old Army veteran.

I never imagined I’d be here, sharing my story like this — but life has taken an unexpected turn. Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. As a non-smoker and someone who has always tried to live a healthy life, the news came as a complete shock.

Since then, my days have been filled with doctors’ visits, chemotherapy, scans, and treatments that have taken a heavy toll on my body — and unfortunately, on our finances too. We are very thankful for everyone who stepped up in the beginning of our journey and helped raise funds to start my treatments and to not lose our home. We have exhausted all the funds taking care of treatment and new add bills. Some of you may not know but before this started we were taking care of Naomi’s dad. He is currently in a care home and we still help support that. This is why I’ve started this new GofundMe. I’ve always been a hard worker, but cancer doesn’t care about schedules, and I’ve been unable to work during this battle. Because of where my Cancer is it makes it difficult to breath at times and I get tired easy.

Despite the physical and emotional challenges, my family and I are staying strong. We’re surviving — but it’s hard. The financial burden of treatment, medications, travel costs, and just keeping up with everyday bills has become overwhelming. That’s why I’m reaching out for help.
