Stand with Dani: A Young Warrior's Fight

Donation protected
Cancer is hard on families. Often one parent cannot keep working due to needing to care for their child, while the other parent works. That being said, the Killman family could use some help for hospital related needs like: meals, gas, bills, and meds the insurance won't cover. All of this would help Dani and her family.

This is Dani's story

Dani, a Marshall, TX native, is a 19-year-old freshman at Redlands in El Reno, Oklahoma, majoring in Animal Science. Dani is fighting an aggressive form of bone cancer, Osteosarcoma.

This is her 3rd battle with Osteosarcoma and her toughest. Having had her lifetime limit of the chemos in her 1st and 2nd episodes, Dani has been accepted into a trial for a new combination of meds we are all hoping will be effective.

Dani and her family moved to Yukon from Stroud to be closer to her medical team.

In 2015, at the age of 9, after some complaints of growing pains, tests showed bone cancer in her femur just below her left knee. By the time that was identified, the cancer had already spread to her lungs.

Dani had a total knee replacement and titanium rods throughout most of the bones in her left leg. They took 20 nodules out of her lungs. In addition, she suffers from permanent nerve damage in her left foot and leg due to complications with an epidural. Her cancer was staged at 4, and she endured 4 major surgeries and chemo all within 6 months. During this time, Dani's family were victimized financially, which resulted in a loss of their home and financial security. (Google: Dani Killman)

Dani and her family thought she had her cancer beat in 2016 when, in the fall of 2017, a routine scan showed another tumor in her lung, which triggered a PET scan that found a bone tumor in her right heel. This meant Dani had to go through 4 more surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy.

Before cancer, Dani was active in basketball, softball, track, and was her Dad's #1 farmhand. In school, Dani was involved in student council, Drama, Choir, FFA, and served as VP of her FFA chapter in Union City, OK. Dani was also on the shooting team and showed pigs and Texas Longhorns for FFA. She loves archery, hunting, art, and spending time with her friends and family. Dani was back on a horse as soon as she could be in 2015, and that rebel spirit is what has her raising and showing Texas Longhorns in Oklahoma. Dani has the heart of a cowgirl and a warrior spirit. She will fight with all she can.

Dani hopes to become a veterinarian and to start a charity to help other kids fighting cancer and rescue horses.

Dani's recent relapse was found kind of later than her family would like. She was wheezing and feeling pressure in her chest. That is what led to the most recent diagnosis. It's been a shock for her and her family, and they're doing the best they can in a very, very tough situation. The Killman family greatly appreciates your prayers and support and sends blessings to all y'all.
