2026 started a short 4 months ago, but has packed quite the punch in our dear friend Christa’s world. She was experiencing a mass rapidly growing in her neck over the first few months of the year, and through multiple recent rounds of testing it was unfortunately found to be cancerous. The costs of just getting to the diagnosis have been very high, and once she’s through surgery and the course of treatment is determined, everything will quickly approach nearly-impossible for her to cover on her own - which is where we need your help!
Christa is one of the kindest and most generous people i have ever known and is a true pillar in our community. She is a young 32 years old, lives on her own, and works two jobs! She lives a genuine, gentle, low-key life surrounded by friends and immersed in movies, bubble baths, and hosting karaoke at her local bar every week. Saying that she deserves all of the grace and help in the world is an understatement. It’s difficult to put into words just how much we wish we could relieve her of the burden that has fallen onto her health this year, but we hope that we have done her justice thus far.
Unfortunately through surgery and treatment, continuing to support herself while trying to heal will not be easy or, to be frank, possible. There are opportunities for assistance but nothing that will cover the full amount she'd typically be bringing in, she really needs our help in so many ways to get her through this abrupt and life-changing situation. The most beneficial will be to financially lift her up and reduce the stress around rapidly growing medical bills on top of rent, utilities, groceries, and other monthly expenses that seem to be dramatically increasing in our current world. All of this can quickly consume you and throw off the balance you’ve worked so hard to create when life has chaos thrown into it. Rallying around Christa and relieving her of that burden is the most impactful thing we can all do at this time.
As of now, the stage of cancer and the exact type has not been determined - we will learn more once surgery has been completed. From there they will determine best course of action for getting her healthy. We of course will continue sharing updates as we know more, but the first step is surgery. We've included that cost in our goal of $15,000, as well as other expected medical expenses and the monthly general expenses previously mentioned. Christa has a very long road of recovery and healing, and all of us on her team appreciate you taking the time to read this, share it, and donate. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated!
