Stand with Chris in his journey to battle cancer.

As a Disaster Relief First Responder, Chris’ jobs have sent him to weather devastated areas around our country. He worked on helping with muck n' gut & rebuild, as well as storm debris removal, rubble cleanup & tree removal. Chris' physical hard work & long devoted hours enabled other companies to come into our communities to restore power, rebuild homes, clear roads & make parks safe again.
Growing up, Chris was a volunteer fireman in New York. During that time, Chris helped fight the wildfires in the Long Island Pine Barrens, (Battleground: The Sunrise Fire of 1995).
Each time Chris was deployed to aid in disaster relief, he spent months away from home to help areas destroyed by mother nature. There are too many to name since 2005, but you may remember the storms & hurricanes that devastated TX, MS, NY (Sandy 2012), LA (Ida 2021), FL (Ian 2022), NC/SC/GA (Helene and Milton 2024) and MI (Ice Storm of the Century 2025).
As for Hurricane Ian, Chris was part of the Debris Removal First Responders to help Florida's southwest coast. Days prior to the September 2022 storm, companies mobilized & poured in from Louisiana & other areas around our country. These mission-minded teams helped get our lights turned back on, streets cleared, parks reopened & enabled roofers to access damage caused by fallen trees. Chris & many other dedicated hard workers were stationed at the Venice Florida Airport for months. They slept in trailers, ate under mess-tents & used portable laundry/shower trucks day after day. Live videos were shared on you tube showing hundreds of bucket trucks returning from long laboring days of tree, debris & rubble clean up around Sarasota County, Charlotte County & Lee County. Chris worked 7 days a week, dawn to dusk & never took a day off. Chris went home to see his kids during Christmas & returned to Cape Coral & Ft. Myers where he trailer-camped in a vacant lot along I-75. He spent his days cutting down & clearing out damaged trees & cleaning up massive amounts of rubble on Ft. Myers Beach. He finally went home in April of 2023
Just before turning 50, Chris received news no one wants to hear, “You have cancer.” Chris has a heart of gold. He is brave, caring & selfless. He often puts others before himself & has made many sacrifices along the way. IYKYK. Chris is a hard worker, full-time single dad of four (youngest are 2 & 10), loving grandpa, loyal family member & a cheerful friend to many.
After recent Michigan work, Chris is back in Louisiana recovering from a chainsaw accident. In June, he was diagnosed w/stage 3 rectal cancer.
Chris’ hours at work have decreased significantly over the last several months due to injury, illness, hospital stays, doctor visits, procedures, tests & lab appointments. Essential home expenses, childcare, travel & everyday living expenses are piling up. It's overwhelming to juggle everything being thrown to Chris at once.
Chris' treatment plans begins soon. He will take multiple chemo- pills daily alongside daily radiation for 5.5 weeks, followed by 4 months of IV-chemo. Surgery will be around the new year.
It seems Chris always went out of his way to work hard & help others & now Chris needs our strong forces to help him. During this challenging time (while still caring for his children), our hope is to ease Chris’ mind with financial help. Our goal is for Chris to focus on beating this disease so he can heal quickly & be there for his kids. We understand times are hard for everyone, so even a small $5 or $10 donation is helpful & appreciated.
Please share his story from GoFundMe, "Stand with Chris in his journey to battle cancer" with friends on social media, family, neighbors, email pen-pals, churches, businesses & beyond.
