Hi, my name is Ornella and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family and our beloved brother and son, Jeremie Chris Ishimwe—who we simply call Chris.

Recently, our world turned upside down when Chris was unexpectedly detained by ICE on July 22, 2025, while walking to his car outside his job. He has since then been detained awaiting bail hearing and a court date, and we're working tirelessly to secure his release and ensure he has the best legal support he can possibly get during this incredibly difficult time.

Chris-as all who know him can attest- is one of the kindest souls. He’s both gentle and firmly grounded through his principles, and so so so effortlessly funny! He carries himself with quiet strength and humility(for someone who taught himself how to code at the young age of 15), always striving to grow, become better, and live by his faith. His belief system deeply influences how he treats others—with compassion, honesty, and love.

We're raising funds to cover:

- His legal representation and court fees

- His immigration bail bond, and

- Other basic support needs during this tedious process
