Help a single mother in her fight against stage 4 cancer

Hello, everyone. I'm Cecilia. After much encouragement from friends and family, I've decided to create a GoFundMe page to share my story… I have been trying to all by myself but I have reached a point where I can really use some help. I appreciate every one of you who stops to read!

In November 2023, my world was turned upside down when my husband made the sudden decision to leave us. Overnight, I found myself thrust into the role of a single mother with no warning. The challenges kept piling on when, just before Christmas, I received the devastating news of being diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Since then, I have undergone three grueling cycles of chemotherapy, endured six weeks of radiation, and faced two surgeries.

The weight of my illness made it impossible for me to continue working in the operating room, where I used to assist with organ donation and transplant procedures, leaving me unable to provide for my family as I once did. Despite these hardships, a few months ago, I welcomed my two nieces into my home, preventing them from being lost in the system after the tragic passing of my sister. As a single mother of three of my own children, taking in two more was a significant adjustment, but one I made without hesitation.

The transition from being the primary caregiver for five children to struggling to make ends meet has been incredibly challenging. My focus has shifted towards prioritizing my medical treatment and medications to fight this illness. Reluctantly, I have reached a point where I must seek help to continue on this journey. I now bear the responsibility of caring for all the children in my family, including my nieces.

Any support, whether it be financial or through spreading awareness of my story, will go towards funding my ongoing medical care and ensuring the well-being of all the children under my care during this tumultuous time.
