Today, we reach out not just as friends, but as warrior moms and a united community who have witnessed the strength, sacrifice, and love that carried AJ through a 7-year battle with Medulloblastoma, a rare and aggressive brain cancer.

From day one, Carolina and AJ’s father, Ricky, stood firmly by AJ’s side two loving parents who walked every step of this long and painful journey with unwavering devotion. AJ was surrounded by love, comfort, and strength because of both of them.

Carolina and Ricky were AJ’s full-time caregiver, took on the daily role of advocate, nurse, constant companion and gaming buddies. Carolina and Ricky gave everything: their savings, their time, their career, and their energy to ensure AJ never had to face a moment of this battle alone. Every appointment, every hospital stay, every sleepless night they were there. On top of everything Ricky still had to support and be present to his daughter, AJ’s little sister.

Now, with AJ’s heartbreaking passing, Carolina faces a new kind of battle: navigating grief while also trying to keep her household afloat. She is the sole provider in her home, and right now, returning to work simply isn’t possible. She along side of Ricky need time to grieve, to heal, and to plan the celebration of AJ’s life that he so deeply deserves.

While this fundraiser is meant to help relieve the financial burden Carolina now carries, we want to honor and acknowledge Ricky’s deep presence and love in AJ’s life. He was, and will always be, an irreplaceable part of AJ’s story.

This is our moment to rally around Carolina, to give her the gift of time, space, and peace as she begins this painful new chapter. Let’s lift her up as she has lifted AJ, and so many others, for so long.
