My sister Talia has been living in Cambodia as a volunteer for the past two years, and during that time, she has become deeply rooted in the community and culture. She speaks fluent Khmer, teaches secondary school, and has grown to deeply love the Khmer people — who, despite enduring repeated hardship, are some of the kindest and most generous she has ever met.

Right now, Cambodia is facing an escalating conflict along its border with Thailand that is devastating daily life and forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes. She has witnessed firsthand the heartbreak caused by the current conflict. Heritage sites, schools, roads, and bridges are being destroyed, and Cambodia, with its limited resources and weaker economy, is suffering greatly. Many are living in constant fear as the violence escalates.

My sister has already been organizing local donations and materials for refugee camps, helping at schools and temples, and preparing food to send to soldiers and displaced families. The local community is coming together to provide relief, but the need is overwhelming. We are starting this GoFundMe to connect with our network in the US and raise funds that my sister can distribute directly to those most in need. Your support will help provide food, supplies, shelter aid, and emergency resources to families who have lost everything and to communities struggling to stay safe and fed.
