This GoFundMe is to help support my sister, Brittany, and my brother-in-law, Nick, financially while Brittany fights cancer and endures chemo. She has been undergoing chemotherapy for the last few months to fight ovarian cancer. In February, she had her ovaries removed because she was dealing with horrible pain. It turned out that there was a softball-sized cyst on her right ovary that turned out to be cancerous.

Not even a month into her chemo journey, she was let go from her job. It's a long story, but basically, they let her go because the amount of time she needed off exceeded what their policy covered. She has been receiving short-term disability, but it's just not enough. She's eager to get her career and life going again once she is done with chemo and cleared to work, but until then, they could really use some help.

Brittany and Nick married in 2017, and they had their miracle baby, Greyson, in 2020, on their third IUI treatment. This was after years of fighting infertility and PCOS. He was born just a little over a year after our dad passed, and we know he sent him to us.

Brittany has also dealt with endometrial cancer and PCOS, and she had to get her uterus removed in 2022. We hoped that would be the end of it, but it wasn't. She kept her ovaries back then to avoid menopause and hopes of retrieving eggs and doing surrogacy, but that plan wasn't meant to be. She started experiencing severe pain at the end of last year, and so it was advised that she get her ovaries removed. Again, we had hoped this would be the end of it, but it turned out that she had a cancerous cyst on one of the ovaries. She had to immediately start chemotherapy, and had the first of six treatments on May 9th.

To give a little more background for those who don’t know our family personally, we’ve been dealing with cancer since 2011. First, it was our dad, who was diagnosed with colon cancer that year. He fought it and went through numerous surgeries/chemo/radiation for eight years before he passed in 2019. Within a few years after that, Brittany and our other sister, Megan, had to have hysterectomies in our late twenties because of uterine cancer. Then in 2023, Lisa, our aunt and our dad’s sister, found out her cervical cancer had returned. We lost her on May 9th of this year, the same day that Brittany had her first chemo session.
