Stand with Brian and Noah in Their Time of Need

On May 26, 2020—after celebrating Christi Diaz's 44th birthday—tragedy struck this lovely family in the most unimaginable way. Christi, a loving wife and devoted mother, was driving home with their children, Joshua (14), Mackenzie (12), and Noah (11), when they were involved in a devastating car crash just beyond their Jefferson County home. The accident claimed Christi’s life along with their two oldest children, leaving Noah as the sole survivor of the wreck and Brian, her grieving husband, to navigate an unthinkable loss.

In the years since, Brian and Noah have fought to rebuild their lives, moving to Michigan for a fresh start. But heartbreak has struck again. Severe thunderstorms recently tore through their new home, sending trees and massive branches crashing through their roof. Now, their house is in ruins—holes gaping in the ceiling, fallen trees and debris blocking the roads, and the structure at risk of collapsing entirely. Trapped in an unsafe home, Brian and Noah are desperate for help.

Together, the two stuck it out for as long as they could before Brian had no option but to pack as much as he could carry on his back and, together, he and Noah hiked through snow, sleet, rain, and wind, downed trees, and lightning strikes before they finally made it to safety.
