Help Support Brian and Mary Williamson After Tragic Fire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim and my aunt and uncle suffered a devastating house fire Thursday morning. My uncle Brian Williamson (66) and his wife Mary (71), along with their children built this home from the ground up 30 years ago. It was a labor of love and dedication that the family brought this dream to fruition. The dream my uncle had of living in his own log home.
The home ignited early on the morning of April 25th. My aunt escaped out the front door with the help of her son, but when my cousin went back to get his dad, the garage and caught fire and the home had become engulfed in flames. Brian has suffered mobility issues since having a stroke a decade ago, but managed to jump out the back of the house, dislocating his shoulder. He is being hospitalized currently and we are thankful that everyone made it out alive.
Brian and Mary spent most of their free time building this home for 20 years. After returning home from working nights at the Drayton Crystal Sugar plant, and driving 60 miles home Brian would come home to work on his new home with his family. With the intention of a home that could enjoyed for generations.
Mary beat cancer for the third time on April 17th after months of treatment. Traveling back and forth to Grand Forks for cancer treatment already depleted their funds. They are both retired and living off of social security.
They currently are staying with family, but it is not a permanent solution. I am hoping to raise funds to get them on the road to permanent housing. This family has been through so much in the last few years, and need to catch a break.
If you are able to donate or share to reach a larger audience, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for reading.
