Help Brian and Amy Win this Battle

My name is Sarah Liebenthal (along with Lori Anderson and all the families). I never dreamed that I would be creating a Go Fund Me page, more importantly I would never imagine getting the text I got on April 15. My dear friend Amy(more like a sister) texted me to tell me that her husband Brian was being rushed by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital. Shortly after that she texted that she had to make an immediate decision to allow the doctor's to perform life saving brain surgery. Brian had a MAJOR brain bleed, his life will never be the same!

Brian, Amy, Shannon and Max Nowak have been part of our lives for 28 years. Amy had been a teacher for 25 years and dedicated her whole life to make sure every student who entered through her classroom door was loved and valued. Brian has already fought cancer and won the battle several years ago and has always been willing to help you fix, move or build anything that you need. They are also always willing to open their home up to host a family/friend gatherings. They are always helping others!

Well, now WE need to help them. Brian has been in the Nero-ICU, regular hospital, Northwestern ICU and Shirley Ryan a combined 67 days. He is unable to speak or move his body. He is able to answer questions with his eyes and hands. The doctors decided that he would be a great candidate for an intensive, high tech rehab facility, Shirley Ryan in Chicago. He has had several set backs but is in Chicago and is back on track! He is ready to win this battle too.

Amy, has been his biggest cheerleader and been at his side from day 1! She has not been able to work and Brian will most likely never work again. Day to day bills still need to be paid, along with all the extra ones including modifying their home. Amy is living in a hotel in Chicago while she supports Brian.

We are blessed to have this amazing family in our lives and are hoping this can make their lives, turned upside down, a little easier. Please consider helping out a most deserving family.
