Can you imagine working hard your whole life only to become extremely sick as soon as you retire? Well that has happened to our friend Brenda. A week ago today, Brenda received the final diagnosis from her spinal tap. The UCSF Neurology specialist told her that she have Multiple System Atrophy. She has the cerebellum type called MSA-C. She cant walk without a walker, and is having speech issues and right arm tremors. She thought kidney and cardiac sarcoidosis was a disease she could live with but this is different. She misses her friends from Crown Billiards and DVPL very much. She met her wife 16 years ago thanks to DVPL and misses playing pool with her friends. She will hav
to build a ramp for her house and will have
to eventually get a motorized wheelchair
to keep her independence. Shes hoping to
get into a clinical trial in July and hope the NIH is still funded by then. SSD as well
but DOGE could change all that. Most importantly, she doesnt want to be a
financial burden for her wife Jenny in the
end. Please help if you can. Peace and
love to you all
