Stand with Brandi: Cancer and Hardship

Hello, this is very humbling to do, but I have to swallow my pride and ask for some help. My name is Brandi, and I am a registered nurse by profession.

In 2024, my health started declining. I had multiple surgeries and was not able to work, but thankfully, I finally healed in 8/2024 and went back to work. In October, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I’m single and have no family locally. I went through chemo and tried to be strong and brave, keeping working through all of that. I slowly got sicker and had to go part-time at work, but was still missing so much from being sick. Medical bills started piling up, and my health continued to get worse. I am back to fighting to get disability, which still hasn’t been approved. I have fallen behind so much that I am days from being evicted and my car being repossessed. I can’t imagine what I will do in my current medical state if that happens.

I’m embarrassed to ask, but I need a helping hand. This has been the hardest experience of my life. I realize we are all struggling with something. Even if you can’t help me, would you please just share? I just don’t know what else to do. Thank you.
