When my daughter Bonnie received a breast cancer diagnosis, we started a GoFundMe page to help her focus on her recovery and not stress about finances. Bonnie is the mother of 3 children, married to Michael, and lives in south Louisiana. You can imagine the panic when doctor bills started to pile up along with unexpected events hitting all at the same time.
We want to be very transparent about what the money will be used for:
- $12,000 nerve transplant (not covered by insurance)
- $4,000 for medical deductible
- $5,600 cold cap therapy (For chemotherapy post-surgery. Also not covered by insurance)
Double mastectomy surgery is June 5, 2025.
