Our friend, Bob needs our help! He is an amazing Papa, husband, father, brother, friend and Army Veteran. He is battling cancer and any help is extremely appreciated.
In 1971, just four days after graduating from
college, Bob joined the Army, showing an incredible commitment to serving his country and countrymen. He trained as a combat medic then went on to serve as a medevac during the Vietnam War, courageously saving lives in some of the most challenging conditions. He flew daring missions to rescue POWs in camps in Laos and Cambodia, showcasing his extraordinary bravery and dedication to caring for and healing people.
After serving six years in the Army, Bob pursued his passion for education, graduating from Salem State College with a degree in education. He furthered his education by obtaining a second degree as a reading specialist. He has served both high schoolers and elementary students. He married and had 2 wonderful children. At some point, life brought him back to his medical roots. He worked as a program manager for Blue Cross for over 25 years.
During COVID, Bob was laid off. Instead of letting that setback define him, he went back to earn a certificate in Medical Assisting and joined the BILH team four years ago.
In 2024, Bob was diagnosed with colon cancer. Despite a successful colon surgery, we later found out his cancer has metastasized to his liver. He has endured many months of chemotherapy and its’ related side effects. He has not been able to continuously work because of this.
Despite these challenges, Bob continues to face each day with resilience and strength. He finds true passion in caring for the patients he sees when able to be at work. As he continues his fight, we want to support him just as he has spent his life supporting others. Any contribution, big or small, will help ease the burden and allow Bob to focus on his health. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
