Hi, my name is Brittney, and I’m the mom of a brave and beautiful little girl named Blayke. In July, our world turned upside down as we’ve navigated a series of serious health challenges with her. Blayke has been diagnosed with idiopathic ketotic hypoglycemia with seizures, three heart murmurs, and ongoing gastrointestinal issues that have led to difficult and worrying test results that lead to many more appts and procedures.

She has appointments with specialists at Gundersen, UW-Madison, and Children’s Minnesota. Between hospital stays, testing, and specialist visits, Blayke has missed a lot of school — and I’ve had to miss work to be by her side for every appointment, procedure, and overnight stay. As a parent, there’s nothing more important than being there for your child when they need you most, but it’s been extremely hard to keep up with both her medical needs and the financial strain that comes with them.

We’ve done our best to keep up with the growing expenses — travel, time off work, lodging, and medical costs that insurance doesn’t cover — but it’s becoming more than we can manage on our own. This GoFundMe is being set up to help ease that burden so I can continue focusing on what matters most: getting Blayke the care she needs and deserves.
