My name is Paz Joyce, and I am starting this GoFundMe to help a close friend of mine–Blanca Laureano.

I am deeply saddened to share that Blanca’s 31-year-old daughter April, a mother of two children, experienced cardiac arrest and suffered multiple strokes last week, leaving her with significant damage to her brain and major organs. She has a long and arduous road ahead of her, and many details about her recovery still remain unknown.

Making matters worse, her insurance coverage is limited but will likely expire soon because of her inability to work. As you can imagine, the hospital fees continue to pile up and will do so for quite some time to come.

Currently, their financial obligations include but are not limited to the following:

Copays and deductibles for the hospital stay, therapies and medications she will need for the foreseeable future

Supplemental income

Assisted living services

Care for her two children

Additional financial expenses that are likely to arise

While Blanca is not one to ask for help, she is left without a choice, considering the challenging circumstances her family and her face and the long road to recovery ahead of April. On behalf of Blanca’s family, I humbly ask for your financial assistance to help them care for April with the dignity she deserves and nurse her back to health so that she may continue building her life with her children.
