Stand with Birrell's Mom in Her Health Journey
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Birrell White. I am starting a fundraiser for my parents.
In life, there are people who shape who you are. Obviously, for me, some of those instrumental people were my parents. They pushed their children to do their best, to find their passions, to live a Christian lifestyle, and to be successful. Sometimes in life, you find angels who just don't have their wings yet... This is my mom. She has spent her life taking care of her family and caring for those around her. She is a beautiful soul in need of help.
My mom had a brain tumor in 2023. We discovered this when she drove into a tree and didn't even see the tree. She had surgery, and the neurologist removed the bigger part of the tumor. Unfortunately, it has grown back... bigger than before. At this time, my mom is undergoing radiation because the tumor has grown so large, it is considered inoperable in its current status according to the neurologist in Seattle. The goal is to shrink the tumor through radiation, and there is a strong possibility after radiation that she will still need to go through surgery again. This is a MAJOR undertaking. They take off the front of her skull plate and surgically remove the tumor from the nasal cavity and through the top of her skull. Unfortunately, during the last procedure, there was a small portion that could not be removed because it was wrapped around her carotid artery. If you nick this artery, you will bleed out in moments. This surgery took many months to recover, and unfortunately is likely a reality following her upcoming treatment for radiation.
Recently, my mom went black-out blind. To clarify, she is legally blind now as the tumor is completely wrapped around her optical nerves. There is no guarantee that she will ever be able to see again. She hopes to one day see her newborn grandchild born on 1/19/25, Ria Allen. My mom is literally fighting for her life and fighting, hoping, and trusting in the process that she may one day see again and be able to gaze upon the faces of her grandbabies and all of the things this world has to offer.
I am not one to ask for help, but please. If you can, my parents need help. I know that we all have stories and experiences in life. I assure you that this is a cause worthy of donating to. These lovely people never ask for anything. They would take the shirts off of their backs and give them to you if you were in need. I am hoping to be their voice, and to reach as many as possible asking for help. We have no idea what all expenses are coming down the pike, or all that will be needed at this time. I know that the need is great, and the expenses are high. If my mom has to return to Seattle for surgery, they will need a place to stay - for a month. Food. Transportation. These things, and so many more. My dad will have to take time off work, and who knows... Maybe retire before he had planned? My parents need help with finances. Paying their daily bills, utilities, and their mortgage. Even now, my mom has 6 weeks of treatment for radiation, 5 days per week, and they are traveling 150 miles per day. As you can see, the dollar signs compound quickly.
From a son who loves his mother, please, donate if you can.
Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and consider helping a family in need.
