Updated July 30, 2026:
For the past several years, so many of you have stood beside Bernie and Melissa with your love, prayers, encouragement, and incredible generosity. When this GoFundMe was created, our hope was to help ease the financial burden of Bernie’s courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Your support allowed Bernie to focus on what mattered most…fighting with everything he had while surrounded by the people he loved.
It is with heavy hearts that we share that Bernie has passed away after a long and courageous battle.
Anyone who knew Bernie knew his resilience, his kindness, and the smile he always seemed to wear, even during the toughest times. He loved his family and friends fiercely and would do anything for anyone. His strength, generosity, and unwavering spirit touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.
Throughout this journey, Melissa was by Bernie’s side every step of the way as his caregiver, partner, and biggest supporter. As she begins to navigate life without him, she is facing not only the unimaginable loss of her husband but also the financial burdens that remain after years of fighting this disease.
We’ve updated this fundraiser so those who have asked how they can help still have a way to support Melissa during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re able to contribute, no gift is too small. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this page and keeping Melissa and the Giamberardino family in your thoughts and prayers is just as meaningful.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported Bernie throughout his journey. Your kindness meant the world to him, and we hope that same love will continue to surround Melissa in the days and months ahead.
Thank you for helping us honor Bernie’s memory by supporting the woman who stood beside him through it all.

Anyone who has ever met Bernie knows he’s the most generous person you’ll ever encounter. Now, it’s our turn to give back and support him. Bernie’s journey with multiple myeloma—a relentless and currently incurable disease—began in 2009 with optimism and hope. Over the years, he has participated in numerous clinical trials and received new, cutting-edge treatments in his fight against this disease. For those unfamiliar, you can learn more about multiple myeloma here:
This disease has no cure and requires ongoing treatment, which has placed an immense financial strain on Bernie and his family. The medical bills are astronomical, and the frequent travel to and from Boston for treatment at Mass General is both physically and financially exhausting. During specific phases of treatment, Bernie must stay within 10 minutes of the hospital, adding additional expenses to an already heavy burden.
Thankfully, Bernie’s wife, Melissa, has been by his side every step of the way. She’s been able to work remotely during this grueling process, but when she cannot work, their family has no income.
Bernie’s determination to support his family has always been inspiring. After being forced to leave the career he was passionate about due to the physical toll of this disease, he started Bernie G’s Seacoast Shuttle, a driving business in York and the Seacoast. Unfortunately, Bernie hasn’t been able to drive since November, and this will likely continue until at least February 2025. Thankfully, his father-in-law has stepped in to keep the shuttle running and support Bernie’s loyal clients.
If you’re unable to make a donation, you can still help by sharing this link and spreading the word about Bernie G’s Seacoast Shuttle. Every ride booked and every share makes a difference.
Now is the time for all of us to come together and help Bernie and Melissa through this incredibly difficult chapter of their lives.
