Anyone that has the privilege of knowing and loving Ashleigh knows she is a true ray of sunshine. She is a beautiful human with a huge heart. She adores her 6 fur-babies, has a wonderful husband, is a talented artist, and loves to game. Her life was flipped upside down on July 7 when she went to the gynecologist for a routine exam. She was hemorrhaging heavily and the tissue appeared unhealthy. She was immediately sent to the hospital, where she stayed for a week. She received 2 blood transfusions and underwent a surgical biopsy. On July 17 she was diagnosed with endometrioid adenocarcinoma, FIGO grade 1-2, with extensive squamous metaplasia. Simply put, she has endometrioid cancer and a fight ahead of her. She is only 36 and has SO much more life to live on the other side of this! Cancer is not going to keep her down!
Her husband was approved for FMLA leave to attend appointments, support her recovery, and be by her side through treatment. Unfortunately, his FMLA leave is unpaid because he is the spouse of the patient. She and her family desperately need our help to navigate this difficult season of life. Thank you in advance to all who donate, share this fundraiser, pray, and/or send words of encouragement. Ashleigh and her family are eternally grateful for the support.
A statement directly from Ashleigh:
"I have an INCREDIBLE oncology team working together to help heal the "anomaly" I apparently am! We HATE asking for help, but desperately need it. For bills, medical copays, medications, groceries, and our animals. I also have an amazon wishlist for all cancer related needs for post surgery, during treatment, etc. My color cancer is technically peach, but we are sticking to teal because it's how my journey started, and so many items had arrived. Teal is uniquely mine for this journey, even if it's weird. We have always tried to help others when we were able, and the outpouring of love and support means the world. I am so grateful for the love, support, and prayers. Thank you SO MUCH from the bottom of my heart for your love and support through all of this."
