Hi, I’m Arthur.

I’m a self-employed chef who runs a cooking and catering business. Lately, my passion has turned toward pizza making—specifically, wood-fired brick oven pizzas. My dream and goal was to one day open a brick-and-mortar business instead of working out of the garage at home. But everything changed in November, when I was diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell adenocarcinoma lung cancer.

From the moment I was admitted to the hospital, things moved fast. I had a bronchoscopy, a port placed, and started treatment almost immediately. I’ve been fighting every day—mentally, physically, and emotionally—but cancer doesn’t just attack your body. It disrupts your life, your plans, and your livelihood.

I’m a father to a beautiful 8-year-old daughter, and everything I do is for her. I’m also engaged to an amazing woman who’s been my rock, but despite our combined efforts, the financial burden has become overwhelming. Cancer has even put a pause on our wedding plans and delayed my dream of opening that pizza place.

In an effort to make ends meet, I’ve had to sell my car—cutting down on insurance and gas—but costs like transportation, licensing, insurance fees, medications, treatments, and day-to-day living continue to multiply. And with me unable to work, the bills just don’t stop.

That’s why I’m reaching out—not because I want to, but because I need to.
