Stand with Ariel: Legal Aid for Deportation Case
Donation protected
My friend Ariel Siqueira Bueno, a citizen of Brazil, is facing a deportation order from the Trump administration. I have worked hard with Ariel to find an immigration lawyer here in Philadelphia to take on his case. Wayne Sachs, who is a seasoned attorney is willing to take the case on, despite the fact that he has so many immigration battles to fight at the moment.
Ariel‘s case is one of the many thousands that we hear about these days; In 2018 he got married to a U.S. citizen in Portugal and in 2020, after starting a life together in Philadelphia, he received a green card. In 2024, after a night out, he got picked up by police and was issued a DUI although he was not driving, charging his phone in the parking lot. They have now scheduled both his removal proceedings and the DUI hearing for the same day, June 23.
Ariel is a sunny person, with many skills. He plays the guitar, can fix almost anything, knows about plants and spirituality. He is an optimist, and loves helping people.
I am writing this gofundme, because I have done everything I can do to help Ariel get legal representation, including making a financial contribution, but it won‘t be enough. Please consider if you would be willing to help. Even a dollar will make a difference. For those in the U.S., I would like to have a small afternoon party to thank you after June 23, when we will also send an update to everyone. Thank you for everything you might be willing to do in advance.
