On October 17th a mother's worst nightmare became a reality - April's son was taken from her by the county constable on a temporary writ. What she was told would be a mutual and amicable divorce over a year ago (July 2023) has spiraled into a terrifying custody battle. Malicious and unfounded lies along with egregious and unfounded accusations have been a constant fight in this ongoing battle.

April is a mother of two amazing children, Bella and Robert (although many know him as Bubs). She started her own photography business in Del Rio, TX shortly after Bella's birth (2011) so that she could have a flexible schedule to be mom first and entrepreneur second. April has always been an advocate for children. With a passion for photography her business quickly expanded into newborn photography, family photography, weddings, and everything in between. Her love for capturing paramount moments in life become family memories lasting generations. She has photographed countless blooming families, and to many of us, she becomes a part of our family too.

Never one to fit in a box, April studied for months and became a realtor so she could help put families in their starter home and, if lucky, their forever home. She also became a Maine Coon cat mama and now connects others around the nation with their dream pets. After her son was born, she did some research and found another passion project, bounce castles and ball pits. April truly is a creative soul. She listens to her clients and puts together these profound and unforgettable experiences of joy. It wasn't enough to accept what was already in the industry - April went further to make people's dreams a reality - she started creating her own soft play and ball pit designs. Her designs all have unique themes, lights, and builds - including sensory friendly designs.

April didn't want me to create this fundraiser because she wants so badly for the truth to prevail against everything that has been thrown at her. After being told the chances of having anymore children were unlikely, her miracle baby boy was born. However, since Bubs has been unexpectedly taken, she knows that she needs the help of an extremely specialized attorney to expose the truth to the courts and be reunited with her son permanently.

April, like so many other woman, have fallen victim to a failed system that is easily manipulated by their abusers and are thought to be irrelevant and counted out. Parental alienation. Due to the complexity of this case, the fees are estimated to possibly climb higher than one year’s salary. This is also a difficult and unique case because it is involved in three different counties spanning the entire width of Texas.
