Stand With Anne

On December 21, 2021 our dear friend Anne Abbott was diagnosed with brain cancer. Anne had fought breast cancer and her prognosis was good but unfortunately the malignancy returned. She has spent time in the hospital but now lives at home with her husband James and their daughters. Anne’s mother Janice has come from Idaho to be with her and to help with in-home care. In-home Anne will require a bed lift and wheel chair as well as regular visits from a health care provider and hospice. James is fully prepared to take on these responsibilities but also has the responsibility of running their restaurant Buck’s American Cafe, performing his duties as chef and manager. He has also taken on the many other jobs that Anne had done as well. The ongoing Covid pandemic has made this an extra hard job creating new challenges as each variant emerges. Above all this is the concern Anne and James have for the well being of their two teen age daughters.

Thirty years ago James came to work for me at Buck’s American Cafe in Everett WA and through that association he and Anne became our close friends. During those years we worked hard and created a successful business which they took over and continue to run today. They care about people and have proved it time and again with their genuine hospitality and the support they have given the community through fundraising for Housing Hope, the Assistance League of Everett, the VOA food bank, the Boys and Girls Club and many others. My hope is that the community will pull together to help Anne with this GoFundMe.
