Hi, My name is Cora St Laurent. For those of you who know me, I am extremely family-centered. My mother Ann Tigges is one of my best friends, there isn't a single thing in this world I wouldn't do to make her happy. Throughout my entire life, I have been there and watched her constantly struggle with her physical and mental well-being. Between heart failure, seizures, and so much more this woman has been continuously tested with more and more complications.
If you follow her on Facebook you can see her most recent battle. She has a condition known as Osteopenia. Osteopenia is a loss of bone mass or mineral density, which we believe was caused by steroids such as prednisone, the same medication that was supposed to help her. August 8th, 2024 was the first time she had broken her hip, and now, 5 months after she has had 3 more surgeries, a fungal infection, heart failure, and adrenal failure.
Even now, she is looking into having at least 1-2 more surgeries just for the hip, she just broke her femur 2 weeks ago hindering her ability to complete daily tasks such as driving, walking, showering, cleaning, etc.
Over the past few months, the medical bills have been overwhelming. Due to the unfortunate situation our family is facing, my step-father Mark has been taking time off of work (as well as having some medical concerns,) to take care of her since I am away at college and my sister Toni works part-time.
She is the kind of person who always puts others first before herself, she's a loving mother, an amazing friend, and a constant source of strength for our family and others. The treatment she’s receiving is vital to her recovery, but the expenses are piling up fast over $10,000 additionally, the $200 a week she has to pay for treatments for her fungal infection put us in an uncomfortable financial position.
Despite our best efforts to manage, the mounting medical bills have become too much to handle on our own. That’s why I am reaching out for help. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering her medical costs, prescriptions, doctor visits, and any other needs she has while she continues her fight.
