My name is Ryley Hicks. My mother, Angela Priddy-Hicks, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 liver & colon cancer - a sudden diagnosis that came with no symptoms. One day in February, she became sick with what we initially thought was the norovirus, lasting through March before sending her to the hospital in April, where CT scans showed severe lesions on her liver and blood work showed markers for colon cancer. Anyone who knows my mother knows the impact she's had on the community, on the students she's taught and their families - an impact spanning over 25 years. Cancer doesn't always come with a warning sign, and it never gives you the preparation time needed to suddenly morph your life around the diagnosis. Any help, any at all, will be greatly appreciated and put towards helping my mother pay for hospital expenses, bills, chemo treatment, as well as other necessities needed.
