My name is Amanda Martin, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Andy, who is currently facing one of the toughest battles of his life.
Andy is not someone who would ever ask for help on his own, but right now, he truly needs support.
Andy is a 39-year-old father fighting cancer and ongoing seizures, conditions that have taken away his ability to work and turned his life upside down in a matter of months.
But above everything else, Andy is a dad.
His daughter is his world. She is the reason he keeps fighting through the hardest days, the reason he refuses to give up. Right now, more than anything, he wants to recover, rebuild, and continue to be there for her.
We are raising $20,000 to help Andy cover:
• Medical treatments and expenses
• Basic living costs while he cannot work
• Rehabilitation and recovery support
Andy has spent his life being there for others.
He is the person who shows up. The one who helps without being asked. The one who accepts people exactly as they are, without judgment, without hesitation. No matter someone’s background or struggles, Andy has always been someone others can count on.
He has never been someone to ask for help.
But today, he truly needs it.
Andy’s life has been defined by resilience.
He grew up in the foster care system, navigating life largely on his own. During that time, he endured severe mental and physical abuse, including periods of isolation and conditions no child should ever have to experience.
But he refused to let that define him.
By the age of 16, Andy was already working to support himself and to help his grandmother keep her home. From that point forward, he has worked consistently, doing everything he could to build a better life, not just for himself, but for the people around him.
Life did not get easier.
In a single month, Andy lost his mother, his grandmother, and his sister. With no real support system to fall back on, he kept going, pushing forward through hard work, determination, and faith.
Sometimes work came before everything else, because he wanted something better for his family and for his future.
Not long ago, Andy began pursuing one of his lifelong dreams, becoming a pilot. He had started flight training and was building toward a future he was excited about.
Then everything changed.
Now, instead of chasing that dream, he is fighting for his health, and for the ability to simply move forward.
The financial strain is real. Medical bills continue to grow. Basic living expenses do not stop. Recovery will take time, stability, and support that he does not currently have.
But Andy has not lost his faith.
Through every challenge, from surviving abuse, to building his life, to enduring loss, to facing illness today, his faith in God has carried him. It is the reason he continues to fight. It is the reason he believes this is not the end of his story.
He believes he is still here for a reason, that he still has more good to give, that he still has people to help.
And most of all, that he still has to be there for his daughter.
He now has a new outlook on life, one focused on healing, being present, and truly experiencing the moments that matter most.
He dreams of the day he can return to what he loves, creating, building, hiking out west, capturing life through photography, and one day finishing his pilot license, a goal he had just begun before everything changed.
If Andy’s story moves you, this is your chance to stand with him.
Your support does more than help with expenses, it gives a father the chance to keep fighting, to keep showing up, and to keep being there for his child.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page can make a real difference.
On behalf of Andy, thank you for taking the time to read his story and for any support you can give.
