My name is Andrew,
- I suffer from various types of non-alcoholic cholangitis. PSC and RPC. The physical and mental fatigue over the course of battling these diseases is very heavy. It has affected me internally as well. Four years i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Over the past 15 years and more than 10 invasive procedures we are at a major impasse. Together with my Doctors and the transplant teams the treatment is to resection my liver.
PSC and RPC have damaged all of the biliary ducts to the right lobe of my liver. The strictures caused by chronic inflammation and infections are numerous in sections 5 - 6 - 7 and 8 of the liver. The most recent MRI showed that my condition continues to worsen. There is no cure to these forms of cholangitis and without surgical intervention the infections will poison my bloodstream (sepsis). My multi-disciplinary medical team, continue to keep me stable until the resection. A future liver transplant is not out of the picture.
I am asking for help because the financial impact is severe. Day to day and long-term struggles have become impossible to manage.
As you can imagine bills have been piling up when you are sidelined because of a major medical condition.
