Stand with Andrea in Her Health Battle
Spende geschützt
Hi my name is Cassie and I am friends with Andrea Shisler. On Sunday Andrea contacted me, and shared that she was in the hospital. On Saturday 6/22 she started feeling sick to her stomach. She was having intense sharp pains, followed by nausea.
On Sunday 6/23 Andrea had her son, Rafe, take her to the urgent care in Ottawa. They examined her and said she needed to go to the ER. They were afraid she was having a gallbladder attack and might need emergency surgery to remove it.
When arriving to the ER they started Andrea off on pain meds and ordered a cat scan to determine where this pain was coming from.
To her surprise it wasn’t her gallbladder or appendix, it was two very large cysts on her ovaries. One of them the size of a softball, the other the size of a golf ball.
The larger one had started to open and was leaking fluid. The fluid was filling Andrea's abdomen, making her very sick. The sharp pains were from the cysts.
They admitted Andrea into the hospital so they could control the pain and order some more scans.
On Monday 6/24 the doctors decided Andrea needed to go to the Advent Shawnee Mission hospital.
She was transported by ambulance.
Once arriving in Shawnee Andrea met with the surgeon and his team. The surgeon said that they needed to get a MRI before doing anything surgical because he needed to know what he was heading into.
The masses are very large and they cover both of her ovaries.
Andrea is now scheduled to have a full hysterectomy on Thursday 6/27.
Andrea is a single mother of three, who receives no outside support. She also is self-employed. As you can imagine this has flipped her world upside down as well as the kids. She will have NO income coming in for six weeks and then will have to work to get back on her feet again. Andrea is also a full time student working to better her situation.
Ever since I have known Andrea she has worked so diligently and hard to support her kiddos, and has always given back to her community through volunteerism. I have really just always known her as selfless and a giver. I cannot imagine being in her shoes right now. She shared she is scared and unsure of what will happen with the home that they rent and the other bills. I hope that some that read this can rally around this single momma and take her worries away!
If you do not want to donate to the Go Fund Me feel free to also Venmo Andrea @andreashisler and 1294 to confirm.
MUCH LOVE TO EACH OF YOU!
