Hello, I’m Evan Nisbet. I’ve had the privilege of being an elementary school teacher for 30 years. Today, I’m asking for help in a way I never imagined. I have a remarkable student named Ana—she’s 10 years old, curious, and kind beyond her years. She loves soccer, singing along to K-pop, and getting lost in her favorite book, The Wild Robot. But what she cherishes most is spending time with her family.
Ana is facing a crisis no child should endure: Last Friday, Ana’s world changed. Her father—a hard-working, law-abiding man who holds multiple jobs to support his wife and four kids (including a newborn)—was detained by ICE. Now, Ana and her siblings are left without their dad and in financial crisis. They have no other family in the country to help them.
This isn’t just about money—it’s about justice and childhood. A loving father is missing from bedtime stories, school pick-ups, and weekend games. Time is of the essence, and your contribution—even a small share—will help. As Ana’s teacher, I’ve seen her shine. Now she needs us. Please help her family get through this most challenging time. Thank you so much!
Why we’re fundraising:
- To cover urgent living essentials: food, diapers, baby formula, utilities.
- To assist with legal fees to help reunite her father with the family.
Updated plan for the transfer of funds: Ana’s mother has given me, Evan Nisbet, the authorization to withdraw the funds and then pass them along to her and the family.
