Stand with Amanda Goodrum: Overcome Cancer Together

Donation protected
This GO FUND ME is being created for our Amanda Goodrum and her family. Amanda is now in Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Amanda is a strong woman of Faith and is ready to fight with all her strength to rid this cancer from her body. Amanda, wife to Aaron, are parents to 2 beautiful girls. Amanda will be traveling from Hoopeston, IL to Lafayette, IN for Doctor appointments and treatments.

Amanda has been there for her family and so many others that she has touched in the Healthcare world. Now I am asking you to stand with Amanda ! Let’s pull together in her time of need. Let’s help Aaron not to carry all this on his shoulders. The support you give whether monetary donation or gift cards will assist Amanda and her family financially. These funds will be used for gas, food, medical expense or every day needs for their family as they face this new word Cancer together.

Here is Amanda’s story that started 2025.

On January 29th Amanda requested Aaron to take her to the Emergency Department at Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette,IN. Amanda had been having abdominal pain along with bloating for 4 weeks prior. Her local Doctor had been treating her aggressively for gastritis. While at the ER, they did a CT of her abdomen, what they found has rocked Amanda and her entire family’s world. They found a large mass/tumor in her right colon, many lesion/ nodules on her Liver, and her lymph nodes were all inflamed around her colon.

Diagnosis- Colon Cancer stage 4 with mets to the Liver.

To prepare Amanda for surgery, she spent a day taking IV Antibiotics. On January 31st, Amanda had her right colon mass removed (size of a man’s fist) 12-16 inches along with many lymph nodes. Over the next week, Amanda wasn’t recuperating as she should. She continued to pass bloody stools. Amanda’s hemoglobin dropped really low so interventions were needed.
On Feb 8th, she had an EGD to see if there were any areas bleeding in her stomach. She did have gastritis, and samples of her stomach were sent to pathology. A colonoscopy was performed to search for a bleeding vessel, which was found (just a tiny little hole was producing all this bleeding) and they placed 3 micro-clips to seal it off. Next few days they monitored Amanda beings she was passing old blood that was in her intestines and still trying to manage by hemoglobin.

Feb 11 Amanda was finally discharged to go home. Once home, Amanda & Aaron sat down with their girls explaining and answering questions.
She will have her port placed for chemo on 17th, and meet with her Oncologist the 19th. Then treatments will start along with follow-ups.
