Stand with Amanda: Eaton Fire Recovery
Donation protected
Our dear friend and native Los Angelino, Amanda Yue, has tirelessly dedicated her life to serving others, from befriending and assisting a bunch of awkward teenagers in myself, Ki Hong, and Josh traverse the challenges of high school decades ago to helping those in need as a Peace Corps volunteer in Botswana to her current role as an USAID humanitarian worker. A few months ago, she uprooted her life and moved from the east coast to Altadena, CA in Los Angeles County to take care of her parents. Her love for people knows no bounds.
Amanda now needs your help. Despite preparing the best she could, on January 8th, 2025, she lost almost all of her possessions when the fast-moving Eaton Fire decimated her apartment. In addition to the essentials of clothes, furniture, appliances and miscellaneous everyday items, she also lost numerous priceless mementos she had acquired during her travels around the globe in helping others. Amanda is currently balancing the responsibilities of caring for her parents, finding temporary and permanent housing, and slowly replacing the items she took a lifetime to accrue.
We the friends of Amanda humbly ask you all for your assistance during this challenging time for her and her *loved* ones so she can get back on her feet. Any amount you can contribute would be sincerely appreciated and would be used towards replacing lost items, finding temporary and permanent housing, and bill payments among other essentials.
This year may have started on a harrowing note for Amanda, but with your help we can remind her that her story of 2025 isn't over, that she's not alone, and there is still hope amidst the chaos.
Even if you cannot contribute at this time, sharing her GoFundMe page with others would be helpful. Thank you for your support during this challenging time.
