Stand with Alexia: Overcome Cancer Together

Dear St. Anthony’s Family,

I wanted to take a moment to share something important and very close to our hearts regarding Ms. Alexia Rivers, who joined us as a Preschool teacher this past February.

Some of you may know bits and pieces, but I’d like to ensure that everyone is aware of what Ms. Rivers has been quietly and courageously facing. Before becoming part of the St. Anthony’s community, Alexia was diagnosed with brain cancer. When she accepted the position here, she expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to continue to teach, which is her true passion.

Since joining our St. Anthony’s family, MS. Rivers has received heartbreaking news that her cancer has spread, first to her spine, and now to her blood. Despite all of this, her spirit remains truly inspiring. She faces each day with faith, a positive attitude, and a beautiful smile that continues to uplift all of us.

Alexia began chemotherapy on June 13th, the day after school let out, with the hope of completing treatment by August and returning in the fall. Unfortunately, recent blood work brought difficult news, and she is now preparing for surgery scheduled for July 2nd. She doesn't share many details, she prefers to live in the moment and find joy in each day.

Whenever I ask if there’s anything we can do for her, her answer is always the same: “Just pray for me.”

So I’m reaching out to ask all of you to please keep Alexia in your prayers. Add her name to any prayer groups or intentions you may have. Let us surround her with the love and strength of our shared faith.

Let’s continue to be the supportive community we’ve always been. It’s one of the many things that sets St. Anthony’s apart, and I am so proud to be part of this beautiful community.

We are setting a goal to raise at least $20,000 to help cover any medical treatments Ms. Rivers may need. Your kindness and support will make a world of difference as she navigates this fight.
