Hello, my name is Alana and I am a 29-year-old single mother to an amazing little boy. Never in my life did I ever think I would have to be bold enough to make one of these and ask for help.
On February 5th, 2025, I found out I have papillary thyroid carcinoma. It is metastatic and has spread to my lymph nodes. After numerous biopsies, testing, and doctor visits, I had a 6-hour surgery to remove the cancer. They took out my full thyroid as well as 42 lymph nodes. Eight out of the 42 were affected. I am considered high risk for the cancer returning.
I have upcoming radiation in June and will be out of work again for a period of time. I am in dire need of help financially, not only for medical expenses but for sustaining housing and food, and caring for me and my child while I am out of work. I have exhausted all the funding I had being out of work for 3 months from when I found out I had cancer to recovery from surgery. And I will be out again until to be determined.
Mentally, this has been a huge burden on myself, and having financial issues is not helping me see the bright side. Cancer makes you feel alone, and I just want to know I am not alone and I have a community behind me that can help lift me back up. If you’re able and could donate even just a little bit, it will go a long way and be so appreciated. And even if you can’t donate, please say a prayer for me on my journey. Thank you
