In Loving Memory of Casey

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Casey, who left this world far too soon after a quiet but courageous battle with ALS. Though her diagnosis came just days before her passing, she had been facing this devastating illness for nearly two years with incredible strength, grace, and resilience.

Casey’s life was one of warmth, love, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Born in Valdosta, Georgia, as an Air Force brat, she grew up in Texas and made her mark in Waco’s radio and television scene, becoming the second-ever female news anchor in the market. Her voice carried across the airwaves in commercials, but it was her spirit that truly left a lasting impact.

I first met Casey in the late ‘90s at an Exxon station, where she always opted for full-service because, in her words, she was a “girly-girl” who didn’t want to smell like gasoline. Our conversations about football and baseball quickly turned into something deeper, and in February 1998, we went on our first date—an Aggie baseball game. A year later, on June 4, 1999, we married during the Super-Regional at Olsen Field, just after I completed basic training and before reporting to my first duty station.

Casey was more than my wife—she was my rock, my greatest supporter, and a devoted Army wife who embraced the role of Family Readiness Group (FRG) Leader at every company I served in. She became a guiding light for countless military spouses, offering comfort, encouragement, and a sense of family to those navigating the challenges of military life.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2024, never imagining how little time we had left together. On Super Bowl Sunday 2025, Casey was rushed to the ER. By Valentine’s Day, we received the heartbreaking diagnosis of ALS and possible Parkinson’s. Just days later, she was gone.

Her absence leaves an immeasurable void, but her love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. As we navigate this profound loss, we ask for your support in easing the financial burden of medical and end-of-life expenses. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to us as we honor Casey’s memory and the incredible life she lived.

Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your generosity during this difficult time.
