Stand with Adriana in Her Cancer Fight

This cancer journey still feels like a bad nightmare that I’m waiting to wake up from. A year ago, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer the “good cancer” but it changed my life forever. I was in a dark place for several months, mentally battling the news I had received.

If you know me well, you know my kids are my life, and I couldn’t imagine life without them. I followed the doctors’ recommendations, only to find out that the cancer had spread to the right side of my thyroid and was a more aggressive type called “tall cell variant.” As the doctors continued to tell me what to do, I realized I needed time for prayer and self-healing and that’s exactly what I did.

Now, as we approach my second surgery on September 24th, and radiation treatments to follow, I will have several back-to-back appointments and hospital stays in Seattle as I recover.

This process has not been easy, to say the least. As I move forward with the changes my body will endure, I have made the difficult decision to take some time off from work to heal mentally and physically for myself and my two amazing children. I know God is in control and has a plan for me. I trust Him completely with my life, and I am grateful for every day that I wake up and get to enjoy life with those near and dear to my heart.
