Help Aaron Heal After a Tragic Assault in Denver
On Friday night, May 9th, 2025, our dear friend Aaron—visiting from Florida—went out to Canopy Bar in Denver. What was supposed to be a fun night took a horrific turn when she was violently assaulted in the bathroom. A stranger smashed a glass into her face, slicing open both of her eyes.
Aaron was rushed to the emergency room and underwent emergency double eye surgery. Doctors say she may recover some vision, but there’s a very real chance she could be permanently blind.
She’s now facing a long and painful road to recovery. Aaron is unable to return home or go back to work, as she must now learn to navigate the world with little to no vision—far from home.
We’re asking for your help to support Aaron through this unimaginable time. Donations will go toward:
• Urgent and ongoing medical care
• Temporary housing and travel while she recovers
• Daily living and accessibility needs
• Legal assistance as we seek justice for this brutal act
• Outreach for witnesses who were at Canopy Bar in Denver on Friday night, May 9th
Please donate what you can, and share this campaign widely. If you were at Canopy Bar that night and saw or heard anything related to the incident, we urge you to come forward.
Aaron needs our help now more than ever. Thank you for your support.
