Help Support My Friend in Her Battle with Cancer
Hi, my name is Amy, and I'm reaching out to help a dear friend who has been dealing with a series of difficult challenges. Right before Christmas, she made the hard decision to resign after her job downsized. What seemed like a blessing in disguise, as it allowed her to address gallbladder troubles, turned out to reveal something more serious.
After visiting the ER, she underwent surgery and a biopsy, which led to a devastating diagnosis: a very rare form of cancer, possibly adenocarcinoma. Her case is so complex that only one doctor in the entire state of Louisiana can perform the surgery she needs. She's now preparing for a PET scan and chemotherapy to fight this aggressive disease.
While she has insurance, it doesn't cover everything. The costs of gas, eating out during treatments, and other everyday expenses are going to quickly add up. Anything you can contribute would mean the world to her and her family.
I want to share a story that shows her incredible spirit. When we worked together, we often asked our class the question, "If you could have any superpower, what would it be?" She'd laugh. Ironically, a hangnail could bother her more than childbirth. She would say, "Why do you think I had 6 kids?" Her superpower is not having pain.
But now, this remarkable woman, who never felt pain, is enduring so much that even pain management can't bring her relief. It's heartbreaking to see someone so strong facing this kind of struggle.
If you can find it in your heart to support her in any way—whether through a donation or by sharing this story—your kindness will make a huge difference in her journey.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can provide.
