Help Support Pregnant-as-Surrogate Mother Facing Trauma

Friends and family,

We wish we were simply sharing the incredible news that we are four months pregnant with a baby girl—a miracle we thought we might never experience, made possible by the most wonderful surrogate we could ever hope for.

Zia is a single mother, a wonderful person we feel blessed to have met, and there is no one else we could imagine carrying our baby. But today, we’re reaching out with a heartfelt and urgent plea for help.

By now, those of you that know us and know Zia know what she is facing and what she is going through (she is facing difficult family complications and she is not discussing it publicly), and that she needs to relocate to the US to care for her family.

As Zia faces what comes next, she is also bravely managing being nearly four months pregnant with our baby girl, an already high-risk pregnancy. Zia faces overwhelming costs for travel, temporary housing, and lost income for a yet undetermined amount of time.

Through all of this, Zia continues to inspire us with her strength. She is balancing her focus on her traumatic situation, her family, and the baby she is carrying for us, all while showing more love, compassion, and resilience than we could ever imagine.

Jodi and I will do everything we can to support Zia, but the reality is that we cannot do this alone.
