Stand Up to Cancer with the Garzas
Donation protected
It has been a horrible 6 months.
This summer, we helped Larry Garza (comedian, actor, friend, father) battle through 2 surgeries to resect stage 4 cancer from his lung and kidney.
We thought the battle was over.
On November 4, Larry suffered a seizure at home and was rushed by ambulance to the ER. We learned that the cancer had spread, resulting in a 1cm tumor in his brain. He underwent SRS radiation therapy on November 22 to try and combat the tumor. All was seemingly well, until Dec 6 when he suffered 2 additional seizures. Tests concluded that his brain was swelling causing what we now know as General Tonic Clonic seizures.
We have done our best to try and keep our family afloat, but regular life expenses plus medical expenses are piling up. Our FMLA protection is quickly running out and I am not able to use vacation time for his doctor appointments. Due to his seizures and recent memory issues, I can't help but be his care advocate at each appointment.
All we ask is for a little help to get back on our feet. Things are tough, but we will beat this "with a little help from our friends."
